What does the Housing crisis in the US have to do with life expectancy? A lot. As people have to move farther away from work, they spend more time in cars. This leads to both vehicular accidents, more sedentary time, and a huge hit on mental health. When commute times go up (we have the highest in the developed world), eating habits tend to go towards fast-food. It's a death spiral. Healthy communities live near workplaces and schools, have health as top of mind, and find happiness in neighbor interactions. #Rook
